The Project :

I Once Was Lost is the first documentary about Sudan by a Sudanese film maker and will be a feature length dramatic documentary featuring 12 Sudanese refugees with one incredible story of heart, heroism, healing and hope.

Ismail Bashir will capture all of the facts and living drama of 12 child refugees who were part of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army operation designed to secure the future of Sudan in the midst of civil war.

This plan sent 600 children between the ages of 8 and 13 on an odyssey spanning almost 23 years, four countries and 2 continents.

Our world desperately needs heroes and providence has given us these young Sudanese refugees. Their story will inspire and challenge each and every person to live life with commitment, purpose and passion.
