The Project :

The story of a nation and a people, about leadership, trust, and never forgetting your past or your purpose.

In 1986 Dr. John Garang, then leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement and Army, took a bold, decisive, and prophetic step of absolute leadership; securing a future he saw, yet few could envision.

These 15 children, though they could hardly understand, trusted their leaders. They believed…and remembered.

They believed they could put down their guns and pick up their pencils…the weapons that would secure the future of South Sudan.

And they remembered their purpose. In 2005 they realized their opportunity had come, and that they simply could not lose this opportunity. So they went.

Our world desperately needs heroes and providence has given us these young Sudanese refugees. Their story will inspire and challenge each and every person to live life with commitment, purpose and passion.
